Occupational Safety and HealthRegulation, Enforcement & Compliancefull-timemanager

This traineeship is with the Occupational Safety and Health Inspectorate with the Occupational Safety and Health Division (OSHD). OSHD works closely with stakeholders to promote workplace safety and health (WSH) through legislation, policies, capability building and engagement programmes. The Inspectorate is the enforcement arm of the OSH Division and is responsible for the enforcement of the WSH legislation to ensure that workplaces maintain acceptable safety and health standards. This is achieved through the conduct of strategic inspections and surveillance of workplaces as well as issuance of licenses for various competent organisations and competent persons authorised under the law. The Inspectorate also investigates fatal and serious accidents and regularly shares lessons learnt from the accidents with the industry. Responsibilities Work on initiatives to strengthen OSHI's enforcement of Design for Safety (DfS) requirements. Support teams in the planning, development, and execution of initiatives whilst gaining hands-on experience in DfS-related activities. Requirements • Tertiary qualification in Engineering • Keen interest in OSH Enforcement in the public service • Ability to evaluate multifaceted information and making balanced decisions • A team player with a strong analytical mind and ability to work independently • Good communication and writing skills are essential
