Step 2 · The role

We are seeking a proactive individual to support our enforcement team in maintaining regulatory standards. This role is primarily field-based, focusing on ground inspections and direct engagement with public stakeholders. As the first point of contact during site visits, you will play a crucial role in educating the public on regulations and identifying non-compliance. Responsibilities Field Inspections: Conduct regular assigned site visits to monitor compliance with URA’s regulations, identify regulatory breaches / gather evidence and document findings accurately to support further investigations by senior officers. Ground Engagement: Explain regulatory and compliance requirements to different stakeholders e.g. homeowners, tenants, and business operators in a clear manner. Conflict Management: Handle immediate feedback and potentially difficult encounters with members of the public on-site, applying de-escalation techniques. Administrative Support: Assist in the preparation of inspection reports and recommended enforcement actions, as well as drafting of official notices or letters to relevant parties. Requirements • A polytechnic diploma in civil/structural engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering, architecture, building or such other relevant field. In the alternative, candidates without a diploma should possess at least 3 years of experience in enforcement related work. • Minimum 3 years working experience in enforcement related work • Eye for detail, self-driven and able to multi-task in managing operational caseload • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Good analytical and writing skills • Able to work independently as well as in a team The successful candidate will be offered a 1-year contract in the first instance, with continuation subject to further assessments and considerations.
