Step 2 · The role

EnforcementRegulation, Enforcement & Compliancecontract

As an enforcement officer, you will be on the front lines of maintaining URA’s regulatory standards. This is a dynamic role where you are responsible for ensuring compliance with URA’s regulations through ground inspections, public engagement, and the management of enforcement workflows. Responsibilities Site Inspections: Conduct field inspections and investigations to identify and document evidence of regulatory breaches, along with interviewing persons acquainted with the case. Engagement & Education: Engage with homeowners and businesses, where needed, to explain rules and regulations. Enforcement Action: Execute statutory powers, including the serving of formal notices to secure compliance with regulations. Appeals Management: Review and assess appeals, providing recommendations based on a balanced and calibrated approach. Conflict Resolution: Manage challenging face-to-face interactions with members of the public, utilising de-escalation techniques while maintaining professional standing. Requirements We are looking for a resilient individual who can navigate complex situations, apply regulations firmly but fairly, and communicate clearly with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders • A degree in civil/structural engineering, mechanical/electrical engineering, architecture, building or such other relevant field. Fresh graduates are welcome to apply. • Prior experience in enforcement/investigation work is an advantage • Eye for detail, self-driven and able to multi-task in managing operational caseload • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Good analytical, writing and presentation skills • Able to work independently as well as in a team The successful candidate will be offered a 1-year contract in the first instance, with continuation subject to further assessments and considerations.
