The Performance & Evaluation (P&E) directorate in MOF is looking for dynamic and motivated team members to support MOF in enabling a high-performance government, through better value and accountability for public spending and outcomes. As Head (Governance Unit) in the Performance & Evaluation directorate, you will have the opportunity to lead, develop and motivate a team of officers, and ensure timely and quality deliverables are achieved: Responsibilities Your key responsibilities will include: i. Policy and planning o Formulate and implement policies and processes to strengthen public financial governance and address risks ii. Assessments/Reviews o Work with stakeholders to assess audit observations, propose responses and monitor follow-ups. o Review agencies’ proposals relating to formation / restructuring of statutory boards and provide inputs/recommendations iii. Transformation and communication o Strategise and spearhead Whole Of Government (WOG) response(s) relating to governance. o Identify and drive systemic changes in collaboration with key stakeholders to strengthen governance approaches, frameworks, and capabilities, as well as foster a strong governance mindset across the Public Service Requirements Functional/Technical Competencies • Tertiary education in Accountancy, Business, Finance, or related disciplines • Minimum 5 years’ working experience with proficiency in financial, accounting and governance standards, and/or programme/project planning and evaluation and/or audit experience is preferred Generic Competencies • Strong analytical thinking, ability to anticipate challenges, and good instincts including for actionable solutions • Ability to think out of the box and develop innovative solutions • Strong written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills to engage internal and external stakeholders at various levels • Self-motivated individuals with the ability to handle an array of responsibilities and follow-ups in a dynamic and fast-paced environment • A good team player and leader who can support, guide and develop a diverse team You will be notified whether you have been shortlisted within 4 weeks from the closing date of this job posting.
