SENIOR MANAGER, PAYMENT TECHNOLOGY (MOTORING DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION) Responsibilities Join a team of changemakers on a mission to redesign the motoring experience – creating a future where transactions happen effortlessly, touchpoints are thoughtfully designed, and where every interaction in a delight. You will be part of a team to reinvent the One Motoring platform, building new capabilities to enable real-time billing, personalised dashboards, and intuitive user flows. As our Senior Manager, Payment Technology, you're not just processing transactions – you're the engineer of trust behind every payment a motorist makes. You will build the payment backbone that moves money reliably for every journey on our roads. What You’ll Do • Shape the Payment Backbone: Drive the technical direction for how payments are captured, authorised, cleared, and settled. Bring fragmented payment flows onto a unified, dependable foundation that motorists and commuters can trust. • Technical Solutioning: Define how systems connect and talk to one another. Design interfacing and system flow specifications, debate the merits and trade-offs of every integration decision to create robust, scalable designs. • Bridge Rails & Partners: Collaborate closely with payment agents and processors to integrate cleanly payment rails, negotiating rates, and ensuring broad acceptance of popular digital payment methods. • Settlement & Reconciliation: Design flows to settle and reconcile accurately across providers, acquirers, and banks – ensuring all transactions are duly accounted for. • Ensure Security, Compliance, Reliability: Audit payment-grade controls into every design, adhering to standards like PCI DSS, MAS TRM, IM8, and OWASP ASVS. • Champion Cross-Team Alignment: Act as a conduit between vendors, engineers, and leadership to ensure payment technology work is driven towards delighting users. Requirements • You have 8+ years of hands-on experience in digital payments, having built or operated payment systems. You deeply understand authorisation, clearing, settlement, and in-house finance reconciliation. • You have strong technical chops in system architecture and solutioning. You can design a system from scratch, draw system sequence diagrams, finesse interface control documents, and meaningfully explain and debate technical choices. • You know your way around schemes, providers, and interchanges, with an in-depth understanding of how acquirers, processors, and banks fit together to move money. • You're adept at navigating through complexity, making sound technical decisions with limited data to steer complex, chaotic integration work across large scale systems. • You possess exceptional stakeholder management skills and can effortlessly bridge between tech jargon and business goals, building mutual trust across every level. • Prior work experience in government or highly regulated environments is a significant advantage. As part of the shortlisting process for the role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and / or undergo further assessment.
