Step 2 · The role
You play a pivotal role in safeguarding our skies by ensuring the operational readiness and sustainment of the Republic of Singapore Air Force's (RSAF) advanced aircraft and weapon systems through robust and sound materials management planning, implementation and execution. Responsibilities - Manage aircraft spares to ensure the sustainment of weapon systems in support of the RSAF's mission - Oversee spares budget management and procurement of spares to support the sustainment of weapon systems - Manage Material Master Data (MMD) codification of weapon system material accounted and managed in the RSAF inventory system - Collaborate and engage with internal and external agencies in the domain of material management Challenge(s) - Continuously engaging multiple agencies involved in the procurement process to provide the most appropriate solution in material planning and support - Managing continuous efforts in formulating, reviewing and validating business process design and existing material policies to ensure their effectiveness in material requirement planning or the provisioning of technical spares to support weapon systems facing obsolescence and diminishing supply sources - Planning and controlling the budget allocated for operational expenditure to ensure funds are spent in the most cost-effective manner, including prioritising, analysing and proposing trade-offs for material planning requirements critical to RSAF operational readiness support - Studying an inventory profile of more than 10,000 line items and developing initiatives to manage and control inventory in a lean yet cost-effective manner to support operational requirements Requirements - Education in Logistics Management, Engineering, Computer Science or a related field is preferred - At least 1 year of relevant experience in logistics and supply chain management - Background in defence logistics or public sector aviation support is preferred - Knowledge of Supply Chain Management, particularly in Material Requirement Planning and Budget Management - Ability to work in high-tempo, dynamic operational environments with strict regulatory compliance and asset control is advantageous - Ability to work effectively as a team player - Good interpersonal, communication and analytical skills - Knowledge of Systems Applications and Products (SAP) platform is preferred Appointment will be commensurate with your experience.
