Step 2 · The role
You will be part of the Law Publishing Unit in the Legislation Division of the AGC. The role involves providing high level publishing services and ensuring that the legislation made available on Singapore Statutes Online (SSO) and supplied to Parliament and the Government Printer is of the highest standard. Responsibilities Your main responsibilities are as follows: 1. Publication Process Management: Carry out end-to-end publication process for Bills, Acts and Subsidiary Legislation (“SL”) (collectively referred to as legislation), prepare accurate PDF proofs of legislation and update Informal Consolidations of In Force legislation, ensuring that all legislation meet quality standards and are published accurately and promptly on the legislation database and the SSO website. 2. Database Maintenance and Quality Control: Regularly update and maintain the legislation database, correct data errors, and verify versions of legislation for quality assurance. 3. Stakeholder Coordination and Support: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to adhere to publication deadlines. Provide training and technical support to officers on the Legislation Editing and Authentic Publishing (LEAP) System. 4. System Operation and Enhancement: Manage and maintain the LEAP System, including addressing system issues. Liaising with IT department and system vendors for bug fixes and updates. Participating in User Acceptance Testing for new enhancements. 5. Documentation and Project Involvement: Develop and maintain essential documentation such as publication user guides, SOPs, and quality records. Contribute to project work, including preparing action plans and instruction manuals. Requirements Requirements: 1. Language Proficiency and Communication: Good command of the English language. Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective liaison with various stakeholders. 2. Technical Skills: Proficient in computer applications such as Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. Basic understanding of HTML, XML, or similar formats for online publishing. 3. Analytical and Problem-Solving Abilities: High sense of urgency. Sharp analytical skills with the capability to troubleshoot issues promptly. 4. Workload Management: Work efficiently under pressure with tight deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 5. Attention to Detail and Legislation Knowledge: Meticulous attention to detail is essential for the accuracy of law publication. Familiarity with Singapore’s legislation and legislative processes is an advantage.
