This role is about prototyping, and about pushing how far we can take design. Working AI-native, you'd work on projects across the government and turn hypotheses into prototypes the team can test and learn from, while helping us rethink how we work: our workflows, our tools, and what's possible when we build new tools of our own. [What you will be working on] • Turn hypotheses into prototypes the team can put in front of users, test, and iterate on quickly • Work AI-native, using agentic coding tools as the core of how you build • Push on how we work: rethinking workflows, ways of working, and the tools the team relies on • Build new tools where they'd help the team do more, not just prototype within the tools we already have • Partner with designers and engineers to make prototypes that fit the problem and move the work forward You'll thrive here if • You're passionate about learning from prototypes and testing, and you treat throwaway work as worth it because the point is to learn and iterate, not to keep • You're keen to figure out how far we can push, both with the work itself and with new ways of working • You're genuinely fluent with AI tools and excited by how fast the ground is shifting • You enjoy embedding with a new team and a new problem, and getting useful things built fast [What we are looking for] • 3 to 6 years building interactive prototypes, creative tech, or interactive product work • Hands-on with agentic coding tools like Claude Code and Codex, and you've used them to build real, working things • Enough technical understanding to work smartly with engineers and others who go deeper, without needing to own the backend yourself • Strong hands-on skills, comfortable moving from rough to refined and knowing which a piece of work calls for • A portfolio of things you've made, from quick experiments to tested prototypes What you can expect • Variety in the problems you face, with each engagement bringing a new domain and team • Room to experiment at the edge of what AI makes possible and shape how the team works • Work that directly shapes how services get built for agencies and the people they serve GovTech is an equal opportunity employer committed to fostering an inclusive workplace that values diverse voices and perspectives, as we believe it is key to innovation.
