The Joint Operations Planning Department coordinates the development of plans and readiness of NEA’s current operations, contingency and national emergency plans. Responsibilities As an Assistant Director in the Joint Operations Planning Department, your roles will include but not limited to the following: • Assist the Branch Head in the implementation and review of Standing Operating Procedures and work with the Operations Divisions/Departments in managing incidents • Manage the daily operations in the NEA Operations Centre and work with fellow Assistant Directors and Operation Managers • Develop and review contingency plans at the intra and inter-agency level • Develop an in-depth knowledge of the various emergency/contingency plans and standing operating procedures to respond to a situation or crisis • Design and conduct exercises to validate the various plans to improve contingency, operational and security readiness • Carry out Secretariat functions in coordinating inter and intra agency level meetings and exercise planning meetings Requirements The job might be for you if you possess the following qualities: • At least 10 to 15 years of broad-based experience in operations planning/training and staff work with the SAF or Home Team equivalent • Experience in running or part of an Operations Centre team or an Ops Trainer will be an advantage • Good communication and writing skills • Proficient with Microsoft Office • Basic Microsoft Sharepoint knowledge will be an advantage • Required to perform shift work occasionally on a rotational basis, manage incidents outside of normal office hours and on weekends • You will be working in a fast-paced and highly volatile environment that would require the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders at the same time • As part of the shortlisting process for this role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and/or undergo further assessment Applicants will be updated on the status of their applications within 4 weeks of the closing date of this job posting.
