Step 2 · The role
At Sport Singapore (SportSG), we aspire to transform the nation through an active lifestyle designed around innovative, fun and meaningful sporting experiences. Sport has the unique ability to bring people together through play, regardless of age, gender, race, ability or social status. It imparts life values, nurtures character and builds resilience. It inspires and evokes the Singapore spirit through shared experiences and strengthens our national identity. We help Singaporeans Live Better Through Sport. SportSG is constantly on the lookout for individuals who are passionate about what they do. Anchored in our values of Passion for Sport, Strength through Teamwork and Care for People, we believe in working and playing, not just as a team, but as a family. Responsibilities The UX and Service Designer will support the Transformation Office in shaping how Singaporeans experience SportSG's services and sport centres. Working closely with senior team members, you will help conduct user research, contribute to service design work, and support digital transformation efforts — helping to uncover user problems and needs, and translating them into clear insights and well-designed experience concepts. This is not a back-end or systems development role. You will support engineers, vendors, and operational teams on proof-of-concept work, help inform product decisions, and help ensure that transformation initiatives stay grounded in genuine user needs. Your work will contribute directly to the everyday experiences of sport centre visitors and members of the public. Key Responsibilities • Support the planning and facilitation of user interviews, observational studies, and surveys to uncover pain points and opportunities across sport centre touchpoints • Help map current-state service blueprints and user journeys, and support the identification of gaps and friction points • Contribute to the development of future-state journey concepts and service design artefacts, including personas, journey maps, interview guides, and service blueprints • Support the design of wireframes, information architecture, and mockups for digital products and service concepts • Build lightweight prototypes using Figma, Webflow, or Framer to help communicate and test ideas with users and stakeholders • Support the use of data-driven inputs such as heatmap recordings, analytics, and user feedback to inform design decisions • Work with engineers and product teams to support product flow refinement, feature development, and usability testing/QA on new implementations • Assist in scoping and supporting proof-of-concept initiatives, contributing a user perspective during planning, testing, and documentation • Help create storyboards, explainer visuals, or short-form content to communicate concepts where needed Requirements We are looking for self-motivated individuals who value integrity, teamwork and take pride in going the extra mile. The ideal candidate is someone who genuinely cares about how people experience public services — and wants to use design and research to help make those experiences better. This individual should preferably be a sport advocate who leads an active lifestyle and wants to be involved in facilitating opportunities for more people to Live Better through Sport. Qualifications and Experience • 3-4 years of relevant experience in UX design, service design, or a closely related field • Working proficiency in Figma for wireframing, prototyping, and design work — with a portfolio demonstrating UX/UI work • Exposure to UX/UI work on tech products such as mobile apps, SaaS platforms, or consumer digital services is a plus, though not compulsory • Experience supporting or conducting user research, including interviews, surveys, and usability testing, with the ability to help synthesise findings into insights • Some experience with service blueprints, user journeys, or documenting current/future-state experiences • Good communication skills — able to explain design concepts clearly to non-design stakeholders • Ability to work well in a team, take direction, and manage own tasks within a fast-paced environment • Familiarity with data-driven research methods (e.g. heatmap recordings, journey analytics) is an advantage • Familiarity with no-code or low-code prototyping tools (e.g. Webflow, Framer) is an advantage • Interest in smart technology, IoT, or sports and fitness technology is an advantage • Prior exposure to public sector projects or Singapore's Open Government Products ecosystem is an advantage Only shortlisted applicants will be notified. The level of offer will be commensurate with applicants' experience. Successful candidate will be offered a 12-month contract.
