[LTA-TRO] AI System Architect — Transport AI Programme, LTA Singapore Responsibilities Singapore's land transport network moves millions of people every day. As AI reshapes what's possible in transport operations, the Land Transport Authority is investing in AI capabilities that will meaningfully improve how the network is sensed, managed, and optimised — for commuters, operators, and public officers alike. You will define and own the technical architecture of LTA's Transport AI Programme, ensuring that AI systems are designed to be scalable, secure, interoperable, and fit for operational deployment in a critical public infrastructure context. You will set architectural standards, guide engineering decisions, and serve as the technical authority bridging the Programme Director's strategic vision and the engineering team's day-to-day delivery. This role reports to the Transport AI Programme Director and plays a key coordination role with industry partners and cross-government digital platforms. Key Responsibilities • Define and maintain the end-to-end technical architecture for LTA's AI programme, covering model serving, data platforms, integration layers, AI safety infrastructure, and observability. • Establish architectural patterns and standards for generative AI, agentic workflows, RAG systems, computer vision pipelines, and shared AI platforms. • Lead technical due diligence and architecture reviews for industry partner solutions, ensuring alignment with LTA's standards for security, privacy, resilience, and operational readiness. • Design AI infrastructure to support automated evaluations, risk-posture dashboards, model drift monitoring, and deployment playbooks. • Work with data governance, security, and policy teams to ensure architecture supports personal data protection, prompt-injection defence, and responsible AI requirements. • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to AI software developers and infrastructure engineers, and act as the primary technical interface with external partners. • Contribute to whole-of-government AI platform discussions and ensure LTA's architecture is aligned with national digital infrastructure where relevant. Requirements • Knowledge in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field, with at least 3-6 years of relevant professional experience in software or systems architecture, with at least 3 years focused on AI or data-intensive systems. Candidates will be assessed based on their experience and may be considered at the intermediate or senior level. • They should have deep familiarity with modern AI platform components — including LLM serving infrastructure, vector databases, orchestration frameworks, and MLOps tooling — as well as cloud-native architecture, API design, and enterprise integration patterns. • Experience designing systems in regulated or high-availability environments is important. Strong communication skills are essential, as the Architect must engage credibly with both technical engineers and senior non-technical stakeholders. • Prior experience in government, transport, or critical infrastructure domains is an advantage. • The candidate should be comfortable working in cross-functional teams and collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders to translate operational data needs into robust engineering solutions. • Strong communication skills to explain technical concepts to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders. Inclination to work in a collaborative, fast-moving Agile environment. Strong in communication with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse audience As part of the shortlisting process for the role, you may be required to complete a medical declaration and / or undergo further assessment.
