Step 2 · The role
As Singapore pursues solutions to generate low-carbon energy for the future, the Energy Communications Officer at MTI will be responsible for communicating the Ministry’s policies and developments (with a focus on the area of Nuclear energy) to external stakeholders - such as the media, general public, students - by developing and implementing integrated communications strategies, media outreach and public relations efforts, and creative partnerships to support MTI’s mission to develop a future-ready economy. Responsibilities You will be responsible for communicating MTI’s policies to external stakeholders such as the business community, industry players, and the general public. You will provide strategic communication counsel for our policies, organise events and activities in the areas of public relations, media relations, stakeholder engagement and marketing communications to profile MTI’s work in developing a vibrant and dynamic Singapore economy (with a focus on low-carbon energy solutions and nuclear energy) Broadly, you will: • Develop and implement integrated communication strategies and create content that support MTI announcements and initiatives • Design appropriate messaging to achieve the desired outcome of impactful and effective communication • Proactively develop media outreach and communication strategies to profile and communicate the Ministry’s work • Collaborate with and manage external partners and agencies on stakeholder outreach and awareness building. Requirements • Relevant field of study in Communications, Public Relations, Arts and Social Sciences or relevant discipline; • Minimum 3 to 5 years of related work experience in media relations and/or journalism; • Demonstrated ability in developing and implementing sound communications strategies and strong media relations skills; • Good project management and organisational skills in a fast-paced environment; • Strong writing skills; • Interest in public sector policy matters and economy related issues
