As a Lecturer, your contributions go beyond teaching and facilitating learning. You will play a critical role in recognising and nurturing your students’ potential and their lifelong learning needs. Responsibilities In addition to your teaching duties, you will carry out industry or consultancy projects to help you remain relevant in your profession and responsive to evolving changes in industry, maintaining strong linkages with industry and schools. You will also have the opportunity for industry attachments or experiences on a regular basis to update your skills, knowledge, and practices — including staying current with the latest developments in generative AI and AI-assisted workflows. Requirements Your primary teaching role is to deliver curriculum in the areas of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Data Analytics, and Intelligent Automation. You are expected to integrate AI tools meaningfully into your pedagogy, manage students and enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. You will design and deliver learning experiences that teach students practical fluency in AI-assisted work, such as prompt engineering, AI-augmented coding, data analysis workflows, and the critical evaluation of AI-generated outputs. You will also provide administrative and project management support for part-time courses under the Continuing Training Department, including intake activities, stakeholder correspondence on course and funding matters, student information management, and intake data compilation and analysis. AI productivity tools should be leveraged to improve efficiency in these administrative functions. Requirements • Relevant training in Computer Science or related fields • At least 3 years of relevant industry experience, with strong knowledge of Machine Learning algorithms, Deep Neural Networks, and Reinforcement Learning • Hands-on experience with AI tools in a professional or teaching context, including generative AI platforms, AI-assisted development environments, and/or AI-powered data analytics tools • Demonstrated ability or willingness to embed AI tool literacy into curriculum design and delivery • Experience and interest in course administration and outreach/publicity matters • Independent, analytical, and a strong communicator with the ability to collaborate effectively in teams • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines • Proficiency and familiarity with AI productivity suites is an advantage Those with good and relevant experience can look forward to Senior Lecturer or equivalent positions, with career development opportunities to leadership positions in the Colleges or Headquarters.
