Senior/Data Manager (Data & AI Office), Economics Division

The Data & AI Office (DnAI) focuses on driving the use of data in policy formulation and service delivery within MTI. With the increasing availability of data, it is critical to strengthen data management and drive data capability development to ensure the effective management and utilisation of data. DnAI also aims to step up efforts in adopting AI and scaling up on the AI capabilities within MTI. Responsibilities Responsibilities / Job Scope: • Data Governance and Quality Assurance: o Develop and implement data governance policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, protect confidentiality and enable exploitation o Monitor data quality, identify discrepancies, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to rectify issues o Establish and maintain documentation of standards and best practices • Data Collection and Integration: o Collaborate with various partners and stakeholders to identify data needs and sources, ensuring effective data collection and integration, e.g., with Government Data Architecture 2.0 o Design and manage data collection processes with other government agencies, utilising appropriate tools and technologies and manage related budget through the process • Data Strategy: o Contribute to the development of data strategies (e.g., annual data report), including data architecture design, data utilisation and analytics o Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending innovative solutions for data management and analysis (e.g., data catalogue, metadata tools) • Raise Data Literacy and Capability Development o Work with Business Leads and other stakeholders to drive higher data literacy and capability development efforts in the organisation o Perpetuate greater data awareness through providing consultation clinics to business users e.g., on data classification, proper handling of data, address other data-related queries Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field • Preferably at least 3 years of relevant work experience in data management, data lifecycle management, analysis and reporting • Strong understanding of data governance principles and best practices • Experience in data management tools and technologies will be favourably considered • Prior experience in Singapore public sector or large organisations is a plus • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Embrace Agile methodology and able to work in a fast-paced environment
