The HR Sector Development Department (HSD) develops strategies and initiatives to strengthen HR practices, workforce transformation and human capital development in Singapore. We work closely with employers, HR leaders, industry partners and government agencies to help organisations build stronger workforce outcomes while supporting business competitiveness. A key area of work is the Singapore Opportunity Index (SOI), a national initiative that seeks to provide organisations with workforce insights and support employers in strengthening their people practices. As an intern, you will support HSD's efforts in human capital strategy, workforce analytics, stakeholder engagement and programme implementation. You will have the opportunity to work on real projects that influence workforce and HR development initiatives at the national level. Responsibilities Depending on organisational priorities and project needs, the intern may support one or more of the following areas: • Analyse workforce, employer and human capital data to identify trends and generate insights. • Support the development and refinement of worker or employer-facing workforce reports and insight products, including those related to the Singapore Opportunity Index (SOI). • Conduct research on human capital, workforce transformation, skills development and HR-related trends in Singapore and internationally. • Gather and synthesise feedback from employers and stakeholders to improve workforce and human capital initiatives. • Support stakeholder engagement activities, workshops, consultations and industry events. • Assist in project management, implementation tracking and coordination across workstreams. • Explore opportunities to leverage AI and digital tools to improve work processes, reporting and stakeholder engagement. • Prepare materials for management discussions, presentations and stakeholder engagements. Requirements We welcome students from all disciplines. Preferred attributes include: • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. • Good writing, communication and presentation abilities. • Ability to synthesise information from multiple sources and present insights clearly. • Interest in workforce, HR, business strategy, public policy, economics or organisational development. • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks independently. • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and data analysis tools. • Familiarity with AI tools, data visualisation or research methods would be advantageous. • Comfortable engaging stakeholders and working in a collaborative team environment.
