Step 2 · The role
The Workplace Policy and Strategy Division’s mission is to achieve “Thriving Workplaces that Promote Economic Growth and Safeguard our Social Compact”. In doing so, we consider the need to sustain strong business growth and a healthy labour market; the profound shifts in the way work is done and societal attitudes towards work; and longer term economic, demographic and technological changes. MOM is exploring ways to better support women and caregivers to remain in, or return to, the workforce through flexible work arrangements, work-life practices, and targeted interventions. In parallel, MOM is studying ways to help senior workers adapt to changing career needs, access to flexible work arrangements, to empower them to remain meaningfully engaged at work, should they wish to. This internship project will focus on (a) researching strategies to support women and caregivers to remain in, or return to work, including through flexible work arrangements, work-life practices, and broader initiatives under the Marriage & Parenthood Reset Workgroup; and (b) studying implementing considerations for senior employment recommendations. Responsibilities The intern will conduct research on barriers and enablers affecting women’s and caregivers’ workforce participation, including flexible work arrangements, work-life practices, and return-to-work pathways. The intern will also support the implementation of policy recommendations on senior employment. In the course of the internship, the intern will contribute ideas for policy interventions and initiatives to support workforce participation and inclusive workplaces. The intern may also be involved in discussions with stakeholders including tripartite partners and other agencies on these projects. Requirements Strong organisational and stakeholder engagement skills, writing and communication skills, critical thinking and analytical skills.
