Step 2 · The role
Lecturer (Aviation Management) / School of Engineering Responsibilities • Conduct lectures, tutorials, laboratory sessions, project supervision, and student consultations for full-time and part-time learners. • Design, develop, deliver, and review curriculum, learning materials, assessments, and teaching strategies to enhance student learning outcomes. • Leverage technology-enabled learning approaches, including e-learning and self-directed learning, to support effective teaching and learning. • Assess student performance, set assignments and examinations, and ensure the quality and integrity of assessment processes. • Provide academic guidance and pastoral support to address diverse student learning needs and support holistic development. • Supervise Student Internship Programme (SIP) students, Major Projects (MP), and other experiential learning activities. • Engage with industry partners, professional bodies, and communities to maintain curriculum relevance and participate in industry projects. • Organise and manage local and overseas student learning trips, as well as polytechnic-wide events and activities. • Support departmental initiatives and undertake teaching and related duties outside normal office hours when required. Requirements • Tertiary qualification in any discipline with at least 3 years of relevant aviation industry experience. • Competency to teach at least two of the following domains: Airport Operations & Management, Airside Operations & Management, and Air Traffic Management. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills. • Passion for education and student development. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in cross-functional settings. • Adaptable and versatile, with the ability to respond to changing operational and educational needs. • Experience in airport or air traffic simulation is preferred.
