The Diploma in Psychology Studies seeks a highly qualified and motivated individual for the position of Lecturer. The successful candidate should have a strong academic background and a passion for teaching and engaging both Polytechnic students and adult learners. The role involves designing and delivering engaging, industry-relevant learning experiences, supporting student development, and contributing to applied research and industry collaboration. The candidate is also expected to contribute to curriculum development, student mentorship, and academic and administrative responsibilities within the department. Responsibilities • Conduct and deliver lessons to full-time diploma students and adult learners in Psychology-related subjects, and carry out all teaching-related responsibilities. • Design and develop curriculum, learning materials, and assessments for face-to-face, online, and blended learning. • Supervise students in projects, internships, or applied learning experiences. • Provide academic advising, career guidance, and pastoral support to students. • Engage in applied research, academic research, or industry projects to enhance teaching and domain practice. • Collaborate with industry and community partners to support student learning and strengthen curriculum relevance. • Stay current with developments in Psychology and related fields, integrating best practices into teaching. • Work collaboratively with colleagues across disciplines on teaching and institutional initiatives. • Take on additional duties as necessary (e.g. committee work, outreach events, student activities). Requirements • Relevant tertiary qualification in Psychology or a related field. • Preferably with at least 2–3 years of relevant industry experience. • Strong interest in teaching and engaging learners across different age groups. • Ability to apply psychological knowledge to real-world contexts (e.g. social services, education, community settings). • Good communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills. • Ability to work collaboratively in interdisciplinary teams and engage industry partners. • Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and commitment to continuous learning. • Comfortable using educational technologies to support teaching and learning.
