Policy FormulationPolicy & Planningtemporarymanager

This role sits with the Data Innovation & Protection Group (DIPG), which leads the development of data-driven technologies, ecosystem engagement, and the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC), which enforces the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA). The Group empowers organisations to harness the power of data to drive innovation in the digital economy and protect personal data. The Policy team develops and implements data policies to bring economic and social benefits to Singapore. Our personal data protection regime safeguards individuals’ interests while enabling businesses to innovate and generate value from data. Through international partnerships, we facilitate cross-border data flows to help our businesses compete globally and strengthen Singapore’s position as a trusted global data hub. Responsibilities Responsibilities • Update data protection policies and laws to maintain their effectiveness. • Provide practical guidance to help people and businesses navigate personal data protection requirements confidently. • Provide expert policy advice to IMDA teams and public agencies. • Build and maintain key stakeholder relationships locally and internationally. • Monitor global and technology trends and recommend policy responses. • Support senior management on international trips and at meetings. • Eventually leading project teams and mentoring junior colleagues. Requirements Requirements • 3 – 6 years of experience in policy development, regulatory work or legislation, preferably in areas related to technology, data, and industry development. • Background in Economics, Political Science, Public Administration or Law • Occasional international travel required Position will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
