Step 2 · The role
Are you passionate about helping young people navigate life's most critical transitions, from school to work, dependence to agency, and uncertainty to purpose? In this role, you will lead a national movement, build the sector behind it, and influence how Singapore thinks about youth transitions. You will work alongside educators and leaders across government, corporates, nonprofits, and the philanthropic sector, contributing to work that creates meaningful impact for young people in Singapore. About the Partnership Lab The Partnership Lab is NYC's strategic engine for 4P collaboration — working across the Public, People, Private, and Philanthropic sectors to co-create opportunities for youth development. We design programmes, structure grants, build data systems, and continuously improve the processes that make partnerships count. Responsibilities Designing Programmes • Lead the design and implementation of youth transition programmes, drawing on data, sector best practices, and direct engagement with young people and stakeholders. • Develop new approaches that equip youths with the skills, networks, and opportunities to thrive, including through DISCOVER, NYC's youth resource and opportunities platform. Developing Partnerships • Cultivate and lead strategic relationships across government agencies, educational institutions, corporates, and community partners. • Identify systemic gaps, co-create solutions, and drive cross-sector collaborations that create integrated support for youths in transition. • Develop and lead engagement strategies for mentors, mentees, and partners to ensure relationships are purposeful and sustained. Stewarding Mentoring SG • Lead and grow Mentoring SG, Singapore's national youth mentoring movement, raising the quality and reach of mentoring practice across the country. • Develop training plans and co-develop materials, toolkits, and resources with partners and subject matter experts. • Plan and execute events, workshops, and large-scale convenings to strengthen the sector, raise awareness of mentoring, and surface new mentors. Managing Grants and Resources • Evaluate funding applications, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives. • Identify gaps in the funding ecosystem and ensure public resources are used with rigour and accountability. Strengthening the Team and Processes • Lead process improvement and capability-building efforts to raise the team's effectiveness. • Leverage data and AI tools to improve workflows and support better decision-making. • Enable the team to work effectively through stronger systems and processes. Requirements • At least 5 years of experience in youth development, social services, education, or a related field. • A track record in leading strategic initiatives and managing multi-sector partnerships. • Comfortable engaging with corporate partners as well as young people navigating uncertain futures. • Strong systems thinking, with the ability to communicate clearly and with conviction. • Interest in how data and AI tools can sharpen the way a team works. • Experience in grant management and familiarity with youth mentoring models or transition frameworks. • Willingness to commit to occasional weekend work when required for programmes.
