Statistical Specialist, Data Collection, MRSD

The position is located in the Manpower Research and Statistics Department (MRSD), Singapore. The department produces a wide range of national labour market statistics to facilitate informed decision-making within the government and the community-at-large. Responsibilities The candidate will be part of the Data Analytics team. Responsibilities include: • Analyse complex labour market datasets to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform policy decisions • Develop and maintain statistical models to support research initiatives • Create reports and visualisations to communicate findings to stakeholders • Conduct data quality assessments and implement data validation procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability • Support ad-hoc analytical requests and provide data-driven recommendations for strategic planning • Monitor key labour market indicators and prepare regular statistical briefings for internal and external audiences Requirements • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with experience in statistical analysis • Proficiency in data analytical tools such as Python, R, SQL, or similar programming languages • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent platforms • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data insights to diverse audiences • Detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving capabilities • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
