IMDA is spearheading Singapore’s drive to become a world-leading Digital Economy, empowering businesses and the workforce to harness digital technologies for growth and innovation. The BizTech Group (BTG) plays a key role in this effort by driving industry adoption of frontier technologies, including AI/Data, 5G/6G, Quantum Communications and Digital Trust. BTG catalyses innovation in these technology areas through partnership and programmes with industry for technology trials and experimentation, R&D to enhance capabilities and in-house product development to capture locally relevant and specialised sectorial needs. As part of the Tech Policy team, you will work on developing policies and strategies for these efforts to create economic uplift, advance digital infrastructure and strengthen our digital resilience and sovereignty. Responsibilities • Provide guidance and support on technology policy issues and developments. • Develop thought leadership and policy perspectives to guide technology policy and strategy. • Conduct research and analysis on technology policies, including their implications for different stakeholders. • Develop strategies for the adoption and use of emerging technologies, informed by research and analysis. • Align IMDA’s efforts with broader national priorities, coordinating and collaborating across Government. • Identify and engage relevant international forums and partners to strengthen IMDA’s voice and influence. • Engage key external stakeholders on relevant technology policy issues and developments. Key Deliverables: • Develop strategic think-pieces and policy positions across BizTech Group’s technology areas, including AI, quantum, 5G/6G, trust tech and Green ICT. • Provide timely updates and insights on key developments and trends across technology policy areas. • Develop strategic narratives to support and position BizTech Group’s initiatives. • Secure resources to support BizTech Group’s strategic priorities and ambitions. Requirements • Keen interest in developing policy positions and strategies for fast-evolving emerging technologies, such as quantum communications, 6G and AI, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and undefined problem spaces. • Some experience working with technology teams in policy, research and/or engineering is preferred. • Strategic thinker and strong team player with a collaborative mindset. • Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation and engagement skills. • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively with local and international partners. • International or industry experience, as well as familiarity with the Singapore Government, would be highly valued.
