Step 2 · The role
The Manager, Compliance & Audit Branch works in a team to ensure the objectives of the team are achieved. The incumbent will ensure the effectiveness of internal controls through rigorous audit planning and execution, development of sound operating procedures, and proactive stakeholder engagement. The role also encompasses building organisational capability through education and the adoption of data-driven and technology-enabled approaches to compliance oversight. Responsibilities Audit Planning and Execution The incumbent will plan and execute audits and compliance reviews with a high degree of independence and minimal guidance. He/she will be responsible for scoping audit projects, identifying areas of risk or non-compliance, and ensuring that reviews are conducted thoroughly and in accordance with established standards. Audit Facilitation The incumbent will facilitate audits conducted by external parties, coordinating effectively with relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth and timely completion of audit activities. Policy and Procedure Development The incumbent will be responsible for drafting and reviewing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure that organisational policies remain current, relevant, and fit for purpose. He/she will apply critical thinking in evaluating existing procedures, identifying gaps or areas for improvement, and proposing enhancements that uphold the organisation's governance standard. Stakeholder Management and Engagement The incumbent will manage relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, serving as a key point of contact on matters relating to audit and compliance. He/she will plan and conduct sharing and education sessions to raise awareness of compliance requirements. Data Analytics and Technology Adoption The incumbent will leverage data analytics tools and techniques to support audit and compliance reviews, drawing insights from data to enhance the quality and efficiency of assessments. He/she will also proactively explore and adopt AI tools to improve audit processes and compliance monitoring capabilities. Other Duties The incumbent will perform any other tasks as and when assigned by the organisation. Requirements • Tertiary qualification in Accountancy or Business Administration, or a relevant discipline • Minimum 3 years of working experience in audit, compliance, or a related field • Ability to plan and execute audits and compliance reviews independently with minimal guidance • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills, with experience in drafting and reviewing SOPs • Effective stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and communicate across different levels of the organisation • Experience in planning and facilitating training, sharing, or education sessions • Proficient in data analytics; familiarity with or willingness to explore AI tools is an advantage
