Step 2 · The role
We are seeking a Research Specialist/Senior Research Specialist to join our close-knit team managing NCSS' flagship National Quality of Life study, a large multi-year longitudinal research initiative. The ideal candidate should be proficient in research management and operations, data analysis and visualisation, and stakeholder engagement and communication. Through this role, you will generate high-quality evidence and actionable insights that directly influence policy and service planning to improve the quality of life of Singaporeans. Responsibilities Research Management and Operations • End-to-end project management of the National Quality of Life study. • Oversee procurement processes and manage relationships with external research vendors, ensuring deliverables meet specifications and timelines • Design and refine questionnaires in collaboration with policy stakeholders • Maintain comprehensive data management protocols and conduct thorough cross-checking procedures to ensure data integrity throughout the research lifecycle Data Analysis and Insights • Conduct advanced statistical analysis of longitudinal data, identifying trends, patterns, and translating them into clear, relevant, actionable insights for senior management and non-technical stakeholders • Develop compelling data visualisations that effectively communicate complex research findings to diverse audiences Stakeholder Engagement & Communication • Build and maintain strong relationships with government policy units, collaborating on research priorities and lines of enquiry that align with policy objectives. • Facilitate iterative analysis processes based on stakeholder feedback and emerging policy questions • Present findings through various channels including formal presentations, written reports, and stakeholder briefings, adapting communication style to suit different audiences. • Lead dissemination activities to sector stakeholders, ensuring research findings reach relevant practitioners and decision-makers Team Collaboration • Work effectively within a close-knit team environment, contributing to collective goals whilst taking individual ownership of assigned responsibilities Requirements Personal competencies: • Thinking Clearly and Making Sound Judgements • Working Effectively with Citizens and Stakeholders • Social Service Sector Knowledge • Data Management & Analysis Skills required: • Data Management & Analysis; Project Management; Stakeholder Management • *Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
