Step 2 · The role
You will be part of the Security & Resilience Department that is responsible for the security and resilience functions of the House, and the protocol and ceremonial duties of the Serjeant-at-Arms. Responsibilities Your core responsibilities will broadly cover the following: • Monitor and ensure proper admission and access control into and within Parliament House. • Monitor and ensure the provision of contracted security services according to requirements. • Monitor and ensure appropriate security measures are in place for activities at Parliament House. • Monitor and ensure the proper functioning and availability of security systems according to requirements. • Liaise and co-ordinate with system users and vendors to facilitate maintenance and rectification works. • Support Serjeant-at-Arms (SAA) duties in Chamber and protocol arrangements for Speaker’s visitors. • Support monitoring, inspections and checks to ensure compliance with risk management, business continuity, and emergency preparedness programmes. • Perform assigned departmental duties, including Duty Officer, finance, budget, and procurement tasks. • Participate in agency-wide initiatives and projects as and when assigned. Requirements • 2-3 years of working experience preferably in security, resilience or related fields. • Knowledge in security operations, business continuity or emergency preparedness would be advantageous. • Good writing and computer literacy skills, especially in MS Office suite of applications. • Possess strong and effective interpersonal and communications skills to engage officers at all levels. • Meticulous with a keen eye for details. • Able to perform and conduct regular physical inspections on the ground. • Able to work with instructions independently as well as in teams. • Able to multitask and work under tight deadlines. • Only Singaporeans need apply.
