You provide strategic vision and scientific expertise to optimise soldier performance and operational readiness within the Army. You will leverage deep knowledge in exercise physiology and sports science to oversee the translation of evidence-based science into practical, scalable training solutions aligned with organisational goals. Responsibilities - Lead the development and implementation of evidence-based training solutions - Integrate sports science, nutrition and performance data to enhance training effectiveness while reducing injury risk - Design and oversee robust studies, trials and evaluations - Generate credible evidence for training policy and programme decisions - Evaluate wearables, monitoring systems and emerging human performance technologies for practical military application - Provide technical authority and scientific leadership across the organisation, mentoring Performance Scientists and upholding scientific standards Challenge(s) - Translating sports science and emerging technologies into practical, scalable training solutions that meet operational needs, while balancing performance outcomes, training safety and injury prevention - Aligning diverse stakeholders, driving ground adoption, and using data effectively to inform policy and training decisions Requirements - Education in Exercise Physiology, Sport and Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Human Performance, or a closely related discipline is preferred - At least 6 years of relevant experience in human performance, exercise physiology, strength and conditioning, recovery, and performance optimisation - Strong knowledge of exercise physiology, sports science principles, and evidence-based practice - Proficiency in data analytics and interpretation - Effective stakeholder engagement and management skills - Strong scientific communication and leadership skills - Ability to design and evaluate training interventions and research studies - Strategic problem-solving ability Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
