International RelationsPolicy & Planningcontractdirector

The Trade and International Economic Relations (TIER) cluster drives the formulation of Singapore's foreign economic policy and safeguards Singapore's economic interests in the international economic arena. The South Asia, Middle East and Africa Division (SAMEA) is a division within Trade that develops and implements policies aimed at growing Singapore's economic relations with over 70 countries in these regions. The job scope includes driving initiatives such as bilateral platforms, pursuing economic agreements, and staffing of Ministerial visits. Responsibilities • Formulate policies to grow Singapore's economic relations with countries in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia • Develop strategies to seize opportunities and address challenges faced by Singapore companies as they venture abroad in these markets • Bring together stakeholders ranging from businesses to other ministries and statutory boards to advance Singapore's economic interests in the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia • Drive Singapore's economic engagement through regular visits, meetings and cooperation platforms Requirements • A related field of study in disciplines such as, but not limited to, Economics, Political Science, International Relations • An interest in economic development, international relations and the emerging markets, particularly in South Asia, Africa, and/or Middle East • Enjoy a fast-paced, challenging environment • Good writing, analytical and communication skills • Independent, energetic and resourceful • Willingness to travel
