Data engineering, process automation and re-design in the Trusted Centre for Individual and Business Data at DOS The Trusted Centre for Individual and Business Data at DOS (DOS TC) shares data with the Whole-of-Government (WOG) for policy analysis, agency operations and service delivery purposes, with DOS TC officers playing the role of data steward for individual and business data, working closely with WOG data users to understand their needs and advise them on their data requirements. To achieve this, officers manage and have a deep knowledge on a wide range of individual and business administrative data, work closely with source agencies to bring in data on a timely basis and rectify data issues that arise, and constantly review and enhance business processes to enable efficient data and request management. Responsibilities The intern will be engaged in a project to transform DOS TC through data engineering and process re-design, through standardised design of data flows and data pipelines that enhance efficiency, and reduce manual effort. The project includes iterative development, prototyping, testing modern data tools and their functions to redesign the processes in DOS TC. The findings should be captured, well-documented, easily interpreted and accessible. Requirements - Knowledge or experience in computer science, data analytics, data engineering, programming, or process automation. - Proficiency in R or Python, and SQL is preferred. - Ability to find most appropriate technical solution for business problems. - Communication skills to engage multiple stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes. - Good teamplayer. Internship Period: 6 months, from Jan to Jun 2027 (flexible start and end dates) Part-time option available: Minimum commitment of 3 days per week
