Science Centre Singapore is gearing up for a transformative phase with the upcoming New Science Centre, emphasizing a need for sharper, faster, and digital-first creative approaches that resonate with modern audiences. To support this vision, we are seeking a Creative Designer, Brand and Digital Content on an 11-month contract basis. This role demands more than routine execution; it calls for a candidate with a strong visual flair, digital instincts, and a proactive mindset ready to elevate ideas across multiple platforms including brand campaigns, social media, video, motion, print, and digital formats. A key part of the role involves embracing the latest AI and creative technologies to innovate communication strategies. Responsibilities The Creative Designer will be part of the Brand, Marketing, and Communications team, contributing to a diverse array of projects—from exhibitions and festivals to educational programs and corporate campaigns. The position requires a balance between polished, campaign-led work and quick, social-first content creation, always maintaining high creative standards. Core responsibilities encompass designing visual assets for various campaigns and visitor initiatives, with a deep understanding of the brief’s objectives beyond mere design execution. The role involves creating native content tailored for platforms like Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts, focusing on engaging hooks, pacing, and shareability. Producing and editing short-form videos and motion graphics, often with quick turnarounds, is essential. The candidate will also leverage generative AI tools such as Adobe Firefly, Midjourney, Runway, and Canva AI to assist in ideation and content creation while ensuring brand consistency and responsible usage. Furthermore, the role includes developing multiple creative concepts, maintaining alignment with brand guidelines, supporting reusable templates to enhance team efficiency, and aiding art direction for events and exhibitions. A strong emphasis is placed on accessible and inclusive design practices to cater to diverse audiences. Requirements Candidates should hold a degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, Digital Media, or a related field, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. A strong portfolio covering visual design, social-first content, short-form video, and motion graphics is essential, supported by solid proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and working knowledge of tools such as Canva, CapCut, or Figma. Experience with generative AI tools is required, along with a strong grasp of design fundamentals including layout, typography, colour, and brand consistency. Candidates should be capable of managing multiple briefs concurrently, delivering work to deadline, and putting forward stronger creative solutions where appropriate. As part of the application, candidates are required to submit a portfolio that reflects their breadth of experience across visual design, social media campaigns, short-form video or motion content, and cross-format campaign adaptation. Where AI tools have been used, relevant work samples should be included alongside a brief explanation of their application. Shortlisted candidates will be expected to present their portfolio and discuss the creative rationale behind their work. Shortlisted candidates may also be required to complete a creative exercise as part of the selection process, covering a social-first concept, a static campaign asset, a short-form video storyboard, and an AI-assisted visual route, together with a concise rationale on how the concept could be adapted across platforms. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
