The Assistant Director (Capability and Industry) is a strategic and hands-on technology leader with deep expertise in artificial intelligence, capability development, and business development. This role is responsible for crafting and executing strategies that advance the School's goals in capability building and industry engagement. We are looking for individuals with a proven track record of translating advanced technologies into impactful business solutions, driving organizational capability, and leading cross-functional teams in dynamic and complex environments. Responsibilities • Spearhead capability development initiatives to strengthen the School’s technology capabilities, focusing on artificial intelligence and emerging technologies. • Monitor and anticipate industry trends, evolving skillsets, and solution needs to ensure the School remains at the forefront of IT innovation. • Align departmental competencies to develop and implement a technology roadmap supporting the School’s long-term strategic goals. • Oversee the planning and delivery of technology projects and training programmes in the emerging technology domains. • Lead, coach and develop high-performing teams to drive successful industry projects and impactful training programmes. • Forge strategic partnerships with industry leaders, academic institutions, government agencies and other key stakeholders to expand the School's reach and influence. • Represent the School at industry events, conferences, and forums to enhance visibility, build partnerships, and stay abreast of the latest industry developments. • Drive business growth by identifying new opportunities, developing go-to-market strategies, and closing deals with enterprises and government agencies. • Adapt to emerging technologies and changing market landscapes to propose innovative IT solutions. Requirements • Relevant qualification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field. • At least 10 years of professional experience in the IT industry, with a strong technical foundation in artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies. • Proven ability to build and nurture high-performing teams. • Demonstrated success in capability development, business development, business growth, and technology transformation. • Extensive experience in developing and deploying IT solutions involving artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies, including leading the creation and launch of artificial intelligence powered services. • Experience in collaborating with government agencies, research institutes, and industry partners. • Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement, and influencing skills, including the ability to engage senior management, external partners, and internal teams.
