Step 2 · The role

Policy FormulationPolicy & Planningcontractmanager

You will develop strategies, policies and programmes to strengthen occupational safety & health ─ thus reducing workplace injuries, promoting good mental and physical workforce health, and ensuring adequate financial protection for workers in the case of work injuries. Responsibilities You will have the opportunity to: • Work closely with Senior Management to formulate and review policies and legislation such as the Workplace Safety and Health Act and Work Injury Compensation Act. This includes working on legislative amendments and drafting parliamentary speeches for any bills to be passed. • Work with other government agencies, unions, industry associations, non-government organisations, employers and insurers to develop effective workplace safety and health and work injury compensation initiatives. • Study international best practices in workplace safety and health and work injury compensation which may be adapted to Singapore’s context. • Advance key priorities such as promoting mental health and well-being at workplaces, fostering age-friendly workplaces where senior workers can thrive, and improving the safety of platform work. Requirements • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to synthesise meaningful insights from various data sources • Strong writing skills with the ability to put forth clear policy considerations and recommendations, in the form of policy papers or presentations to stakeholders • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple projects independently • Good team player with effective interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate constructively with stakeholders • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment PWDs are welcome to apply
