Step 2 · The role
You will be part of a pioneering team driving the enterprise transformation of MSD by architecting, deploying, and operationalising Sovereign Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities. You will maintain operational oversight and governance of localised AI platforms and frameworks within high-security environments. You will ensure that model deployments, engineering pipelines, and rapid prototyping capabilities are securely integrated with enterprise systems and remain fully compliant with established security policies and infrastructure control frameworks. This is both a digital and cybersecurity role, where you will balance the rapid acceleration of AI initiatives with the critical mandate to secure advanced computational workloads, ensuring the ongoing integrity, privacy, and defence of our AI capabilities against emerging threats. Responsibilities You will be working on the implementation, optimisation, and lifecycle management of local GPU hosting infrastructure, containerised MLOps environments, and foundational AI/LLM architectures. You will also be driving the technical execution of pilot programs centred around AI-powered rapid prototyping engines. This includes collaborating on underlying data lakehouse foundations to ensure secure data ingestion, optimising inference performance, and formulating automated operational runbooks to sustain highly resilient AI services. Requirements You should have a tertiary education, preferably in AI Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related fields, with relevant experience in deploying, administering and managing complex or large IT infrastructure systems and services. Hands-on experience with container orchestration, AI model deployment frameworks, or managing specialised high-performance compute/GPU environments is highly advantageous. You must possess good written and verbal communication skills, be an adaptable team player, and demonstrate a strong proactive learning mindset to stay ahead of rapidly evolving AI technologies. Fresh AI Engineering graduates are welcomed to apply.
