What you’ll own You’ll own the product capabilities that help agencies, developers and approved AI tools find, understand and use accurate information about GovTech products. Product knowledge is spread across different platforms and formats, and the way it is maintained varies between product teams. You’ll help establish a shared foundation where teams can maintain authoritative information once and make it available across the digital experiences used by agencies and developers, as well as approved AI tools. Product teams remain responsible for their knowledge; your role is to make creating, maintaining and using it easier and more reliable. You’ll start with real product needs and prove the approach with participating teams. You’ll shape the roadmap from early pilots through to a capability that can support more products and experiences over time. Success means people can find the right information and complete their task, product teams can keep knowledge current without unnecessary effort, and approved AI tools can use the right information within appropriate access controls. You are expected to • Own the roadmap, prioritising the problems that matter most to agencies, developers and product teams, and scaling what proves its value. • Run discovery with users and product teams to understand how information is found, used and maintained. • Define the knowledge model, including content requirements, authoritative sources, ownership, review cycles and access. • Partner with design, engineering, security and content teams to deliver practical authoring, publishing and governance workflows. • Set measures for coverage, quality, accessibility and findability, and use real tasks to test whether people and approved AI tools can find and use the right information. • Prioritise the smallest useful capability at each stage, communicate trade-offs clearly and manage dependencies across partner teams. You do this by • Starting with a live use case and the product teams closest to it. Learn how their knowledge documentation is created and maintained today before deciding what needs to change. • Working hands-on with product teams to identify the information users need, agree on ownership and test whether proposed workflows fit their needs. • Separating problems that need product or engineering changes from those that need clearer ownership, standards or operating practices. • Piloting improvements with a small group of products, measuring what changes for users and teams, and using those results to decide what to scale next. • Building a clear view of quality and coverage, with practical checks that help teams understand what to fix rather than a score without explanation. • Bringing product requirements and evidence to engineering and platform partners, and working with the accountable owner when a dependency blocks a priority journey. Tracking adoption, quality gaps and user task outcomes from the start, so progress is based on what people can actually do, not on content published alone. Who we’re looking for • 3 to 10 years in product management. Years of experience are a rough guideline. • You have owned a product area from problem framing through to shipped, measured outcomes, ideally involving APIs or platform capabilities used by other teams or systems, not just end users. • Strong product sense, particularly around scoping a minimum viable capability set and validating it with real usage before expanding. • Comfortable with ambiguity. This is new territory, and you can make sensible calls before every detail is settled. • You communicate clearly in writing and in person, and are comfortable working with product, platform and operations partners. • Prior experience with APIs, access control, or building for machine and agent consumers is a strong plus.
