This role reports to the Head of Maritime Systems (MS) under the Robotics, Automation, and Unmanned Systems Centre of Expertise (RAUS CoE), who is responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining the Unmanned Maritime Systems (UMS) capability for the Home Team Departments (HTDs). The job holder will perform capability development work, either through agile development or Systems Engineering, in collaboration with key strategic partners. He/she will be required to translate proof-of-concept solutions into viable operational capabilities, and conduct Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E) to validate the final products before transitioning them into operational systems. The job holder must ensure that all products that pass OT&E are integrated into operational systems, either via mid-life upgrades or as part of next-generation platforms and systems. Additionally, the job holder will be responsible for the deployment and sustainment of UMS for HTDs. He/she must ensure that the delivered UMS capabilities achieve the desired outcomes of the Ops-Tech Masterplan and support Day 1 delivery programmes to meet operational needs on time. The role also involves overseeing Day 2 operations to ensure that the Home Team’s UMS fleet is well-maintained, highly available, and experiences minimal downtime. Responsibilities -Deliver, deploy and maintain UMS for HTDs -Perform the system integration of multi-variate components, e.g., platforms, sensors, mission payloads, autonomy and Command, Control & Communication (C3) systems etc. -Liaise and work with multiple stakeholders (i.e. ops users, collaborators and vendors etc) to deliver projects, ensuring that the budget, requirements and schedules are adhered to. -Manage the sustainment contracts of operational UMS and ensure operational systems go through proper maintenance regime throughout the in-service period. -Provide regular updates to senior management on project progress, highlighting project milestones, issues and expenditure. -Translate MS technology from multi-year R&T (TRL 4 to 7) programme workstreams into viable operational capability. -Conduct OT&E to validate the final articles before transiting into operational systems. -Ensure proper integration and testing of all hardware and software components as part of OT&E. -Perform tech insertion into operational systems either via mid-life upgrade or into next generation platforms/systems. -Work closely with Head DevOps/MS to determine the best approach (buy-vs-build-vs-hybrid) to deliver desired operational capability within the shortest reasonable timeframe. -Monitor and ensure timely delivery of milestones for the R&T workstreams. Requirements -Minimum of bachelor’s degree in engineering; preferably Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Mechanical / Mechatronics / System Engineering / Computer Science (Post-graduate degree would be an advantage) -Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in project and technology management, preferably with MS experience -No experience welcome to apply -Preferably with basic knowledge of cybersecurity governance best practices and implementation -Preferably with basic knowledge of communication/datalink/networks -Preferably with practical experience in applying systems engineering methodology to develop large and complex systems -Good communication skills and excellent team player -Self-motivated and committed with a sense of urgency to deliver the desired outcome -Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines as well as result oriented -Strong analytical, planning and project management skills. PMP, system engineering or equivalent certification would be an advantage All new hires are appointed on a two-year contract in the first instance and will be assessed and considered for permanent tenure over time, based on performance.
