NEA’s Inspectorate Department (ID) administers the Environmental Protection and Management Act (EPMA) and its Regulations to control air, water and noise pollution, as well as manage hazardous substances and toxic industrial wastes in industrial and trade premises. Responsibilities You will be assigned to a catchment which consists of various types of industries (e.g., semiconductor plants, food manufacturing plants, and chemical processing and storage installations) and will work in a team to administer and enforce pollution control regulations to ensure clean air and clean water. You will be responsible for the following: • Inspect trade and industrial premises to ensure that they comply with pollution control, hazardous substances, and toxic industrial waste requirements • Perform investigations and carry out enforcement actions with regard to air, water, and noise pollution • Execute air and water sampling programmes • Respond to pollution incidents during and after office hours • Attend to feedback from the public on pollution matters • Administer emission monitoring and surveillance systems Requirements • Diploma in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related engineering disciplines, with 1-2 years of relevant working experience in an engineering-related field. Fresh diploma graduates with a keen interest in environmental protection will also be considered • Strong team player with good interpersonal skills • Meticulous and detail-oriented • Mature, independent, and resourceful • Preferably in possession of a Class 3 driving licence • Able and willing to work on weekends and after office hours when required
