Besides regulating building safety, we lead and transform the built environment sector in delivering a safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built environment. We are looking for resourceful, energetic and self-motivated individuals who are inspired to play an active role to make a difference to Singapore’s built environment. Responsibilities We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team specializing in the oversight of unauthorised structures. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, investigating, and ensuring the compliance of structures that have been erected without proper authorization. This position requires understanding of the regulations, good communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders. Surveillance and Investigation: • Conduct regular inspections to identify unauthorised structures. • Investigate complaints related to unauthorised constructions and gather relevant information to assess compliance. Regulatory Compliance: • Interpret and enforce building regulations to ensure structures adhere to regulations. Documentation and Reporting: • Maintain comprehensive records of unauthorised structures, including photographs, violation notices, and correspondence with property owners. • Prepare detailed reports outlining findings, compliance status, and recommended actions for regulatory bodies. Communication: • Communicate with property owners, developers, and other stakeholders to explain regulations, address concerns, and facilitate compliance. Conflict Resolution: • Handle property owners, seeking amicable and compliant resolutions. Requirements • Trained in civil/structural engineering. • At least 2 years of relevant design and site experience. • Good command of spoken and written English.
