The Building and Construction Authority (BCA) champions the development of a future ready built environment for Singapore. Besides regulating building safety, we lead and transform the built environment sector in delivering a safe, high quality, sustainable and friendly built environment. We are looking for resourceful, energetic and self-motivated individuals who are inspired to play an active role to make a difference to Singapore’s built environment. Responsibilities As a Deputy Director, you will assist the Director to manage and oversee the department to ensure the provisions of the Building Strata Management Act [B(SM)A] which is regulated by BCA are complied. This includes: • Overseeing the team in administering the B(SM)A and managing feedback from stakeholders; • Stakeholder engagement and outreach by leading discussions on B(SM)A related issue at dialogue session with stakeholders; • Representing BCA in multi-agency committees / taskforce to contribute as sector lead; • Guiding staff in cross-functional and inter-agency teams in projects and studies in response to WOG and industry needs; and • Adopting technology to review and improve relevant work processes/systems. Requirements • Tertiary qualification in any discipline preferably in built-environment related field. • At least 10 years of working experience in the built environment sector, and have experience in public policy work and dealing with multiple diverse stakeholders • Good understanding of the B(SM)A legislation • Some years of industry experience in the MCST/MA sector would be an advantage. • Good knowledge of digital skills to and understanding of basic law. • Strong managerial and people management skills • Strong stakeholder management skills to engage and influence • Good written communication skills and strong ability to manage dispute / feedback from customers. • Ability to think critically and sense make.
