[LTA-TRO] SENIOR/PRINCIPAL ENGINGEER, DEVELOPMENT & BUILDING CONTROL (ROAD) Responsibilities The role sits in the Development and Building Control division, under the Traffic & Road Operations Group. DBC(Road) is responsible for regulating development plans and ensuring compliance with LTA's requirements and guidelines. This position involves ensuring street works plans meet acceptable quality standards before LTA assumes maintenance responsibility. • Technical Evaluation - Manage and evaluate development proposal plans (including design of new streets) submitted for Roads & Parking clearance. Conduct thorough evaluation of development proposal plans submitted for Roads & Parking clearance, ensuring compliance with LTA's prevailing requirements and guidelines, including reviewing technical drawings, specifications, and design proposals. • Stakeholder Engagement - Attend to public enquiries and feedback, liaising with developers, consultants, and members of the public regarding compliance requirements and processes. Document non-compliance issues, recommend corrective actions, and track resolution progress. • Adoption of Technology – Drive projects to improve work processes through technology and collaborative efforts with other divisions. • Process and Policy Review – Review processes and policies to keep pace with industry changes, ensure the safety and connectivity of our transport network and minimise regulatory cost on industry Requirements • Knowledge in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related engineering disciplines • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in road design or construction preferred; exceptional graduates with strong technical aptitude may also apply • Strong knowledge in Civil and Structural Engineering principles • Understanding of road design standards, construction methodologies, and quality control processes • Proven ability to lead and manage technical teams, or demonstrated leadership potential for graduate candidates • Excellent writing and presentation skills for preparing reports and communicating with senior management • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for stakeholder engagement • Experience in dealing with public enquiries and stakeholder management will be advantageous
