Step 2 · The role

Research and AnalysisInfocomm Technologyinternshipintern

You will support the Research & Development division in driving innovation and capability development across the MND Family. This includes: (i) scoping and coordinating impactful use-cases for a Built Environment Digital Twin (BE DT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) initiatives, (ii) contributing to MND Family and implement Science & Technology (S&T)-capability building efforts, and (iii) developing a new programme management and repository portal to track the performance, outcomes and progress of research projects under MND's flagship Cities of Tomorrow R&D Programme. Responsibilities The role includes the following responsibilities but not limited to: Built Environment Digital Twin (BE DT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) Initiatives: - Conduct desktop research and landscape scans on emerging technologies, digital twins and AI applications relevant to the built environment. - Identify, evaluate and collate use cases for the BE DT to address urban planning, sustainability and municipal challenges. - Develop a portal/platform as a repository of use cases for the BE DT. - Support stakeholder engagement across MND Family to facilitate data-sharing and collaboration across digital platforms and be involved in discussions to understand agencies’ requirements and needs. Science & Technology (S&T) Capability Development: - Conduct desktop research on best practices and emerging trends in MND Family’s S&T cross-cutting areas i.e. AI, Modelling & Simulation (M&S), Geographic Information System (GIS), Building Information Modelling (BIM), and Robotics & Automation (R&A). - Develop a portal/platform for MND Family agencies’ officers (to form a community of practice) to identify S&T functional competencies relevant to their roles, and share relevant capability building programmes, workshops and learning initiatives. Research Programme and Project Management: - Conduct desktop research and identify suitable digital tools to develop a portal with dashboards to monitor research project milestones, outcomes, and key performance indicators (KPIs). - Develop a portal/platform as a repository of research projects (including project information, publications, and translation outcomes) under the CoT R&D programme. - Support coordination with researchers, government agencies and industry partners to track project progress and facilitate knowledge sharing. Requirements We are looking for a motivated and curious individual with an interest in AI, digital innovation, and smart cities. The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills, meticulous with data, and be able to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across agencies. The candidate should preferably possess the necessary technical skills to develop a portal/platform for the division. -Appreciation of Digital Twins and AI, and experience with IT/project management systems will be an advantage -Familiarity with data analysis and visualisation tools (e.g. Excel, Power BI, Python, Tableau) would be an advantage. -Experience with project management, knowledge management, or collaboration platforms (e.g. SharePoint, Power Apps) would be beneficial.
