Step 2 · The role
You will be the go-to expert for incisive reads on the latest political developments, global trends, and what they mean for Singapore. You will produce intelligence assessments on the latest geopolitical developments and emerging long-term trends. Your work will arm Singapore’s policy makers with intelligence assessments that enable them to make the best decisions to advance Singapore’s national interests. Specialisations include political analysis, economic analysis, and global trends. Responsibilities • Conduct research on dynamic and complex political developments, current issues, global trends, and key threats to Singapore • Work on a wide range of intelligence reports for Singapore’s policy makers, including written reports, verbal presentations, and briefings • Engage Singapore government agencies to understand Singapore’s policy concerns and national interests • Engage academics and SID’s foreign counterparts in analytical discussions If you are in a senior role, in addition to the above, you will need to: • Provide technical and strategic leadership for a team • Design and implement workplace processes, with future trends and needs in mind • Plan and guide your team’s professional growth, in both general and technical areas • Build good relations and workflows with internal and external stakeholders • Mentor and develop junior team members to maximise their potential What you will gain: • Mastery of analytical skills and domain knowledge • Understanding of Singapore’s national interests, Singapore’s decision-makers’ preoccupations, and an appreciation of the threats Singapore faces Requirements • Roles for fresh graduates and mid-careers available • Keen interest in geopolitical, economic, and security-related developments • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence • Ability to see the big picture and also a keen eye for detail • Motivated team player, as well as an independent self-starter • Interest in and flair for foreign languages
