Step 2 · The role
You will play a vital role in supporting SID’s mission of protecting Singapore. You will develop plans and strategies to drive operational outcomes to defend and advance Singapore’s national interests. Responsibilities • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders to understand requirements and ensure delivery of mission outcomes • Develop plans and strategies to deliver mission outcomes • Conduct research and analysis on geopolitical developments to identify, evaluate and recommend operational opportunities • Gather and review performance metrics related to operational outcomes, identify factors for success or failure and recommend improvements • Conduct risk assessment and management to achieve operational outcomes in a safe and sustainable manner If you are in a senior role, in addition to the above, you will need to: • Provide technical and strategic leadership for a team • Design and implement workplace processes, with future trends and needs in mind • Plan and guide your team’s professional growth, in both general and technical areas • Build good relations and workflows with internal and external stakeholders • Mentor and develop junior team members to maximise their potential What you will gain: • Opportunities to hone your analytical skills to analyse info and data from varied sources in a dynamic environment • Experience in operational and strategic planning in order to achieve goals and objectives • Mastery of operational analysis tradecraft • Opportunities for innovation and collaboration in joint operations and stakeholder engagements • Mastery of foreign languages Requirements • Roles for fresh graduates and mid-careers available • Keen interest in geopolitical or security-related developments • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Interest in foreign languages • Ability to have strategic perspectives and also a keen eye for detail • Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence • Motivated team player, as well as an independent self-starter
